About the Position: Fort Drum, the home of the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), is located in Northern New York, a historically unique and geographically beautiful area, offering bountiful outdoor recreational opportunities from hunting and fishing to winter sports of all types. Fort Drum is approximately 30 miles from Canada, with the Great Lakes to the west, the Adirondack Mountains to the east, and the St. Lawrence River and Thousand Islands in between.
Duties
Serves as the Installation Property Book Officer with responsibility for overall management, direction, control and supervision of the Installation Property Book Office.
Performs duties associated with administration of the full range of property management as the Command appointed and fully accountable Installation Property Book Officer (IPBO) for a Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) and/or tenant activities.
Responsible for the administration and maintenance of Property Book Unit Supply Enhanced, (PBUSE) and related automated systems and operations.
Provide technical guidance to supply operations.
Serve as the major authoritative source knowledge for activities supported. Interprets policy originating from higher headquarters.
Develops and establishes policies and procedures for operations in accordance with regulations, directives and issuances from higher headquarters.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Tier 3 Secret Security Clearance is required.
- Travel up to 25% of the time for duty.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid State Driver's license for the duration of employment.
- Will be required to serve as a member of the Army Power Projection Platform (AP3) Operations to encompass deployment activities such as the Departure/Arrival Airfield Control Group (DAACG), SIA, and rail.
- AP3 work may involve shift work, weekends, and/or holidays, to include mandatory overtime as mission requires.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1. Maintaining accountability for nonexpendable and reportable property; 2. Assisting in tracking all equipment related purchases; 3. Assuring all acquired property is properly managed; AND 4. Preparing inventory lists as required to conduct inventories and adjusting property records as required to ensure accuracy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Acquisition Management, Contract Management, or Quality Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
