The U. S. Department of Justice, Civil Division, Consumer Protection Branch is seeking a highly motivated program analyst to manage administrative and programatic tasks as well as conducting analysis of office programs and providing reports to management.
This is not a remote location position.

As a GS- 0343-12/13, your typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Identifying potential victims and targets of fraudulent activities by using investigative processes, procedures, and techniques.
Planning and evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of the Vulnerable Population Initiative program.
Conducting independent research, leveraging law libraries, computerized resources, and other avenues.
Overseeing extensive document collections and data related to consumer protection violations and fraud investigations.
Creating and continually maintaining electronic files and filing systems, enhancing productivity across the Branch.
Planning, sustaining, and overseeing use of integrated reporting systems to ensure insightful program evaluation.
Requirements
- You must be a United States Citizen or National.
- You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.
- You must be a current Federal employee within the Department of Justice on a Competitive Service appointment.
- You must meet all eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement and continue to meet those requirements throughout the hiring process. Offers can be rescinded if requirements are not met.

- Selective service registration is required for males born on, or after, December 31, 1959. Those not registered should have an approved exemption on file.
- You may be required to complete a one-year probationary period.
Qualifications
To qualify for the position of Program Analyst, (GS-0343-12/13), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade.
If you are a current Department of Justice employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade.
To qualify for the GS-12 Program Analyst position, you must demonstrate that you have all of the following:
At least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience that is equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the federal service performing such duties as Identifying targets of fraudulent activities; overseeing document collections and data; applying investigative procedures, processes and techniques; conducting legal research and providing support to attorneys.
To qualify for the GS-13 Program Analyst position, you must demonstrate that you have all of the following:
At least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience that is equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the federal service performing such duties as identifying potential victims and targets of fraudulent activities; overseeing document collections and data related to fraud; applying investigative procedures, processes and techniques; conducting legal research and providing support to attorneys.
