This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will serve as an analyst and advisor to management on the evaluation of the effectiveness of programs and operations in support of CJADC2 and other Department of Defense (DoD)-wide modernization.
Duties
As a MANAGEMENT AND PROGRAM ANALYST (PROGRAMS AND OPERATIONS) at the GS-0343-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Developing and recommending changes to DD South C51 CJADC2 and associated mission administrative policies and procedures to improve operations.
Researching current Department of Defense, Joint Staff, and Joint Staff Suffolk policies and procedures to ensure appropriate implementation in relation to current projects, tasking, and issues.
Directing program assessments, projects, actionable events, and milestones and applying problem solving methods or techniques, and advice on work practices and procedures.
Researching and investigating new or improved business and management practices for application to the organization's programs.
Providing direction, executive guidance, and leadership to implement effective methods to task support work, resolve problems, answer questions, correct deficiencies, evaluate support to management and assure that this organization's objectives are being met.
Coordinating and collaborating with Director's front office and staff, key customers, and external officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolve significant and contentious issues.

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Composing doctrine development by preparing and communicating plans, reports, joint doctrine, correspondence, and other publications to provide clear and concise information and guidance;
Applying a wide range of analytical methods and techniques to conduct assessments to identify and propose solutions to analytical issues/problems that have major impact on the organization;
Developing new techniques, detailed plans, goals, policies, operating guidance, and objectives for projects, studies and analysis to facilitate policy across the organization;
Preparing briefing materials, doctrinal summaries, status reports, and briefings/training aids for use in conferences, classes, and briefings.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
