About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is with US Army Cyber Command, Assistant Chief of Staff G-2, serving as a Security Specialist, providing application, guidance, and instruction on new regulations, policies, and procedures for multiple security programs.

Duties

Assists SSO with SCI security procedures, SCIF design and construction process, movement of SCI equipment and information, and IS access requirements. management of SCI security programs and oversee SCI security functions of subordinate SCIFs. Provide personnel security collaboration with NSA to schedule ARCYBER personnel to include assigned, attached or Task Force personnel for NSA indoctrination/ debrief/ polygraph examinations. Provides policy guidance, assistance and approval on a wide variety of information security issues. Coordinates and facilitates the issuance of ARCYBER and/or Intelligence Community (IC) security badges and access control standards for ARCYBER and NSA/IC facilities. Conducts briefings, orientations, training, and other security awareness efforts related to eligibility for classified information access. Support management of SCI security programs and oversee SCI security functions of subordinate SCIFs Conducts briefings, orientations, training, and other security awareness efforts related to eligibility for classified information access.

  • Shift work, irregular tours of duty, and/or overtime may be required.

  • In accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R,Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 17-Nov-2011, Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450 upon entering the position and annually.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance based on a Single-Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • Temporary duty (TDY) travel may be required 30% or less.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain access to National Security Agency (NSA) and Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) accredited facilities and networks. [Military and External Affiliates Division (MEAD) Security In-Processing (SIP) process.]

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: CommunicationsSecuritySecurity Program Management Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
