Duties

Serves as the principal advisor to the J34 Executive Director in all areas of overall logistics management. Ensures optimal use of obligation authority by analyzing various level setting/support options (e.g. lead-times, forecast accuracy, safety stock) prior to their implementation to effectively use/manage DLA resources for best customer value. Provides leadership in integrating and synchronizing the key business and supply chain management functions. Exercises oversight and management of the Enterprise-wide internal processes required to deliver value-added logistics solutions to the warfighters. Stabilize and improve order fulfillment, planning, and tech/quality, logistics information, order to cash and plan to stock business processes across the enterprise. Incumbent charged with oversight regarding reducing lead-times, reducing blocked purchase requisitions, reducing unfilled orders, and improving customer support fill/rates. Align capabilities across all demand and supply chains (leveraging the Enterprise Operation Planning Council's Sales and Operations Planning process). Responsible for refining planning process parameters (e.g. Safety stock, coverage durations, etc.) to ensure optimal support to the warfighter. Provides continuity of operations and functional expertise across a broad range of business responsibilities which are critical to the long-term mission success. Responsible for extending competencies and capabilities of the Agency closer to the warfighters through retail and business process integration stabilization and growth. Makes broad policy decisions, which have far-ranging effects on customer support and sustainment support throughout the DoD. Responsible for management of all budgetary resources and staffing requirements for the Directorate. Exercises oversight of the development and implementation of warfighter support and stewardship-focused transformational initiatives.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Deputy Executive Director, Logistics Policy and Strategic Programs, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-15 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Expert experience providing oversight for Logistics Policy Programs & Initiatives. Experience ensuring optimal use of operations and obligation authority by analyzing various level setting/support options (e.g. lead-times, forecast accuracy, safety stock). Proven experience providing oversight and management of the Enterprise-wide internal processes required to deliver value-added logistics solutions to the warfighters. Experience aligning capabilities across all demand and supply chains through a robust sales and operations (leveraging the Enterprise Operation Planning Council's Sales and Operations Planning process). Experience ensuring optimal use of operations and obligation authority by analyzing various level setting/support options (e.g. lead-times, forecast accuracy, safety stock). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
