You will serve as a FIRE PROTECTION INSPECTOR in the NAVY REGION NW/OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of NAVBASE KITSAP SILVERDALE WA.

Duties

You will conduct fire safety and emergency procedures training. You will stay alert to new or unusual types of combustibles or other hazardous materials and recognizes conditions of high fire expectancy and severity. You will inspect, test, and correct deficiencies on a variety of fire protection systems, many of which are complex or designed for a specific operation or hazardous condition.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing and conducting extensive fire protection and prevention education and training programs; 2) Participating with fire prevention or safety engineering in studying fire prevention problems and investigating actual incidents; 3) Maintaining close checks on new systems being installed to ensure installation and performance are in accordance with established standards; and 4) Reviewing work request and engineering plans. This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications for the GS-08: Fire Inspector I and II, Fire Instructor I, and HAZMAT Awareness (under NFPA standards adopted by DOD).
