About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency, located at Tripler Army Medical Center, Directorate of Resource Management, Logistics Division. Tripler Army Medical Center is a tobacco-free workplace. Tobacco products include, but are not limited to, smoking, smokeless tobacco, and electronic nicotine delivery devices.

Duties

Ensures the overall acquisition management of expendable items and services utilized by the organization, such as repair parts, hardware, supplies and equipment are processed in accordance with rules and regulations. Submits requests for services to repair equipment and the ordering of a wide variety/complexity of parts ranging from nuts and bolts to electronics parts and highly technical equipment. Receives, stores, inventories, identifies, and issues a full range of available items, these items may weigh up to 50 pounds, used by Medical Maintenance Branch personnel. Contract Management. Serves as a point of coordination and control of one-time and recurring service contracts for the Medical Maintenance Branch. Analyzes budget requirements and makes recommendations for increases or decreases based on submission of requisitions by the Branch.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

  • Must successfully complete pre-placement and annual physical.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver license.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain military driver license.
  • Must be a qualified typist able to type greater than 40 words per minute.
  • Position may require lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • This position may require to travel up to 5% of the time.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal government which includes assisting in analyzing budget requirements; assisting in monitoring acquisition management of expendable items and services utilized; maintaining an inventory of supplies; and using automated systems such as Microsoft to compose various reports and documents. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR: Education: Completed a half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Supply Management, Logistics. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR: Combination of experience and education: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education by 9. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer SkillsContracting/ProcurementEquipment ApplicationFundamentals and Operations of Finance Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
