About the Position: Incumbent is responsible for research, analysis, development, emergency preparedness, and management planning for the Medical Readiness Command, East (MRC,E) and subordinate activities in the U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM).
Duties
Develops contingency, emergency operational preparedness, and response plans through a detailed knowledge of existing and planned medical activities and
facilities.
Responsibilities include program analysis, evaluation, modification, and writing and maintaining publications.
Responsible for planning the technical and clinical aspects of preparing individual deploying medical forces for sustained military operations.
Acts as the regional point of contact for the MACOM generated Medical Mobilization Readiness Program (MMRP).
Responsible for a multifaceted range of coordination requirements for emergency preparedness with federal, state, and local mobilization and disaster planning authorities.
Develops plans for facility and staff medical aspects of mobilization, for facility and staff expansion in wartime.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in planning and coordinating contingency, emergency operational preparedness, and response plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
