This position is with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), located in the Temple, Texas state office.
Duties
Provides direct support in monitoring and tracking projects, proposals, and requests as assigned.
Prioritizes documents that are time sensitive and determines whether items require the attention of the supervisor.
Advises and consults with designated officials and staff concerning their activities and problems relating to those activities.
Conducts studies, analyzes findings and makes recommendations for work processes or programs for administrative support activities.
Participates in the preparation and/or revision of agency policies, procedures, and operations to implement a wide range of goals and objectives.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the 09/21/2023 of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined above.
Time in grade: Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.
Specialized Experience: You must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through federal service. Examples of specialized experience include:
Performing a wide variety of complex administrative services functions to support communication, correspondence, scheduling, monitoring, and daily operations in a work unit;
Proficiency in software suites related to word processing and database maintenance for complex office functions;
Researching, interpreting and providing guidance on regulations;
Identifying areas of concern and making recommendations for policy and process improvements of administrative programs
Providing technical assistance in all stages of data collection for program management;
Independently determining the needs of customers and personally assisting when appropriate. OR
Education Substitution: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., in related fields such as: human resources, social or behavioral sciences, or in such fields as business or public administration or industrial management, psychology, labor relations. OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of graduate-level education and experience, as described above, may be used to qualify for this position. This combination must have equipped you with the necessary knowledge and/or experience to successfully perform the duties of this position. Combinations of experience and education must total at least 100% as outlined in OPM Qualifications policy.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
College Transcript: If you are qualifying based on education, submit a copy of your college transcript that lists college courses detailing each course by the number and department (i.e., bio 101, math 210, etc.), course title, number of credit hours and grade earned. You must submit with your application package evidence that any education completed in a foreign institution was appropriately accredited by an accredited body recognized by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education as equivalent to U.S. Education standards.
