About the Position: This is a Construction Control Representative, GS-0809-12 position for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Southwestern Division (SWD), Fort Worth Engineering and Construction Division, Rio Grande Area Office, located in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Relocation/Recruitment Incentive is authorized up to $15,000.
Duties
Analyze problems and reviews and interprets the requirement of plans and specifications for Contractor representatives and other interested persons.
Monitor the layout of work and inspection of all work in progress.
Coordinate the work with Contractors' personnel and representatives of the using service to assure timely and satisfactory accomplishment of all contracts.
Provide daily surveillance of Contractor Quality Control (QC) system to assure that it is working effectively, in that required quality tests are made and appropriately reported in a timely manner along with daily quality control reports.
Confer with Contractor's representatives on matters pertaining to interpretation of plans and specifications.
Inspect safety precautions exercised by Contractors and suggests remedial measures as required.

- Appointment to this position may be subject to a one- year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. One year of specialized experience which includes 2 out of the 3 following duties: 1) Monitor major civil/military projects to include conventional buildings of all types dormitories, mess halls, buildings etc.; AND/OR 2) Ensure construction projects are performed in accordance with contract plans and specifications; AND/OR 3) Resolve contracting issues with contractors/engineers/staff. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
