To improve the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of health care by managing and overseeing all aspects of the program. Review correspondence templates for mailings sent to Veterans and family members related to Veterans care, services and other general information provided by Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration.
Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:
Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates the program including assessment of needs, monitoring, overall program evaluation and recognition.
Coordinates specials projects and the participation in local work programs.
Reviews correspondence for technical and substantive compliance with management and department policies, writes and conducts a technical review of correspondence prepared for signature by organization executives to assure consistency with agency procedures on completeness, response accuracy, timeliness, and formatting.
Researches and prepares in appropriate format with all pertinent data within time-frame to enable appropriate review and approval prior to submission.
Conducts various studies, in such areas as workflow measurements, problems or issues encountered, changes in policy and how it will affect the Healthcare System relative to the Correspondence Control program.
Performs full review of format for all correspondence submitted for Front Office review and ensures compliance with the Agency's policy guidance.
Develops or updates the organization's correspondence program policies and procedures and evaluates organization practices to identify problem areas.
Conducts meetings or briefings on matters relating to facility correspondence.
Ensures appropriate handling of confidential correspondence and tasks, in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Forwards completed actions to appropriate individual and ensures actions are closed out in tracking system.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/22/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07 level. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-7 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Researching issues and writing formalized responses to individuals and key stakeholders.
Knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, policies, and precedents which affect the use of program and related support resources in the area studied.
Analytical ability, judgment, discretion, and knowledge of a substantial body of administrative or program principles, concepts, policies, and objectives.
Presenting staffing recommendations and negotiating solutions to disputed recommendations, summarized in verbal or written communications.

Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or a LL.B. or J.D., if related. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. TRANSCRIPT(S) MUST BE SUBMITTED IF EDUCATION IS BEING USED TO QUALIFY.

Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience above but less than one year, and have more than one year but less than two years of graduate education as described in B. I have computed the percentage of these requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond two years by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.)
Preferred Experience:Highly knowledgeable with Nursing Professional Practice Boards, Credentialing and Nursing Appraisals, VetPro and Professional Nursing Licensing, Scheduling room reservation and tele-conferencing with multiple departments.
