You will serve as a Aircraft Freight Loader Supervisor in the Operations Department of NAVAL AIR TERMINAL.
Duties
You will exercise responsibility for safety conditions, procedures, and work practices employed within a freight department.
You will explain emergency safety instructions while fuels personnel fuel or defuel aircraft.
You will Handle hazardous material (e.g., gasoline, oil, scuba tanks, pressurized air) in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
Assemble cargo and mail for each flight based on load planning guidance received from an air terminal operation department.
Direct a crew of aircraft freight loaders to prepare explosives for shipment.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Receiving incoming cargo, prepares transportation documentation, and frustrates cargo; palletizes the cargo, then nets, covers, weights and/or positions the cargo in designated storage locations; 2) Selects and assembles cargo and mail for each flight based on load planning guidance received from the Air Terminal Operation Division; 3) Conducts the on-loading/off-loading operations on all DOD transport aircraft, DOD automotive, or commercial automotive conveyance originating, terminating, or transiting the Aerial Port of Embarkation or Debarkation; 4) Monitors cargo and mail having unique characteristics warranting special documentation and/or labor intensive handling, including hazardous materials, registered mail, security cargo, chilled items, and explosives. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
