The primary purpose of this position, Material Support Program Specialist, GS-301-12, is to serve as the center level OPR for Material Support Programs assigned within the center.
Duties
Serve as the Staff Material Support Program Specialist on assigned systems and programs within the Center/Wing.
Review and coordinate on all policy that is downward directed.
Provide informal training when required and assist training organization in the development of formal training material.
As a subject matter expert, will represent the Center/Wing at Integrated Product Teams.
Prepare and present reports, studies and briefings to evaluate the effectiveness of related programs.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year or will have one year within 120 days of closing of this announcement, at the next lower grade, GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: Extensive functional and technical knowledge of policies, procedures and regulations governing Material Support Program. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Due to the use of 120 day rosters, applicants within 120 days of completion of TIG requirements are encouraged to apply.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Thorough knowledge of Material Support Systems functionality.
Thorough knowledge of established policy procedures, and regulations pertaining to Material Support.
Ability to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve complex problems and/or deviate from normal procedures.
Ability to work with management in a staff function. This includes advising management on specific processes and decision making.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Thorough knowledge or security regulation and policy pertaining Privacy Act of 1974.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed indoors in an environment involving everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety
precautions typical of such places as office or meeting rooms. The area is adequately, lighted, heated, and ventilated. Travel and overtime may be required to accomplish assigned duties.
