About the Position: This position serves as an Administrative Support Assistant performing a variety of clerical and administrative duties in support of the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) mission.
This position is located at Fort Liberty, NC. Fort Liberty is co-located in Fayetteville, North Carolina a culturally diverse city centrally located just hours away from the beautiful beaches of North Carolina and the scenic Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains.
Duties
Use automated data processing (ADP) software and other personnel management databases.
Establish and maintains personnel and office files.
Assist employees with assembling, preparing and submitting time changes, and maintains personnel time cards.
Manage and tracks all required training.
Performs administrative duties to support the divisions.
Provide statistical data to the Director, Deputy Director, and Division Chiefs.
Requirements
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/ or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Utilize automated office software to perform administrative functions; 2) Maintain files and records to ensure required actions are taken within deadlines; 3) Review forms for completion and adherence to administrative policies and procedures; and 4) Review personnel data and correspondence to ensure proper punctuation, capitalization, spelling, grammar and formatting. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas.
