About the Position: Serves as the Assistant Chief of staff, evaluating and directing operations, deliberate planning efforts, transformation initiatives, Force Integration/modernization management, and training support to a staff of multi-functional military and civilian specialist through their respective Section/Division chiefs.
Duties
Serves as Deputy in a U.S. Army Forces Command Division, with full authority and sharing responsibilities for readiness, current operations, future operations, and deliberate planning in accordance with the military decision-making process.
Responsible for assisting with the day-to-day oversight of directorate readiness programs and activities related to force management, force integration, plans and operations, and training for all FORSCOM units located on the installation.
Participates in operational planning and program development to meet present and future mission requirements and provides technical oversight.
Provides advice on all matters related to G-3/5/7 planning and execution of operations, training, force integration/modernization, Army and Global force management' ADCON/Title 10 support, mobilization and operations activities.
Exercises the full range of delegated personnel management responsibilities of a second-line supervisor.
Requirements

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance to have access to classified information and attend classified meetings.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience planning and directing operations that build and sustain unit readiness in a division level organization with heavy combat capable platforms. Experience in Home Station Mission Command/Rear Det operations at Brigade, Division, or Senior Mission Command level. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13 or above).
