You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Guam (NCTS Guam) of NAVAL COMP TELCOM AREA WESTPAC.
Duties
You will apply comprehensive technical knowledge of electronic communications equipment and systems to solve complex problems that can typically be solved by properly evaluating and interpreting technical manuals.
You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electronic test equipment, Super High Frequency (SHF) Extremely High Frequency (EHF) equipment, systems, antennas, antenna structures, and ancillary equipment .
You will operate, tune, test, align, inspect, patch, and configure communications equipment as necessary to meet operational requirements.
You will use complex technical equipment or software, modifies and conducts complex tests on various types of equipment, and records results.
You will carry out all phases of maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, operation and testing of a full range of electronic communications equipment/systems.
Requirements

- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a U. S. passport.
- May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.
Qualifications
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by providing maintenance support on the electronic communications equipment that supports senior technical and professional personnel by testing, design, operations and adequacy of entire systems or complete processes.
This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area Technical and Administrative Support at Work Level II, Series and Grade GG-0856-09 within 12 months of appointment.

Education
In lieu of qualifying experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may meet minimum qualifications based on equivalent combination of education and experience, as follows:
Successfully completed two full years of graduate education or a master's degree directly related to the work of the position.
OR
Combination of qualifying experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal 100 percent.
