This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration, Inspection Division.
This position is responsible for information, equipment, facilities, activities, and operations within the National Capital Region. Manages and maintains the DEA credentialing system and software to support DEA operations worldwide. Provides knowledge in state-of-the-art security systems to protect DEA personnel, assets and facilities. Assist with the operation of the Headquarters PIV card service center.

As a Security Specialistyour typical work assignments may include:
Serving as the technical authority and recognized expert responsible for the planning, development and implementation of comprehensive credentials control programs for all DEA personnel, contractors and task force officers DEA-wide worldwide.
Serving as an expert on policy requirements and guidelines regarding credential application and issuance requirements are upheld and maintained.
Serving as an expert on the DEA credentialing issuance system, software, and policies and guidance on issuance.
Serving as a program administrator of the software used for processing all DEA credentials.
Requirements

Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. Qualification claims will be subject to verification.
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12, that includes performing the following duties: 1) Assisting in the day-to-day operations of the PIV card service center; 2) Providing plans and specifications for structural modifications relating to physical and technical security; 3) Providing assistance to lower level personnel on using the DEA credentialing issuance system; and, 4) Researching and solving issues that involves credentials.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
