About the Position: This is a Tasking Specialist position located within US Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7 at Fort Eustis, Virginia. The Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7 develops, integrates, and manages training operations and requirements, concepts, policies, plans; and directs operations continuously across TRADOC in support of CG TRADOC.
This position is a Term position.
Duties
Serves as Tasking Specialist working in Operations and Tasking Division, G33 Current Operations, Deputy Chief of Staff G-3/5/7.
Conducts detailed analysis, prepares and issues tasking instructions, recommends policies and procedures for subordinate commands and activities, covering receipt, validation, and tasking of military personnel, equipment, and staffing actions.
Operates in an automation environment, using available communication and office management software. Establishes and maintains database files to capture detailed information pertaining to each tasking requests received.
Using data and automation programs, prepares recommendations, executive summaries, updates, and briefings covering tasking issues.
Coordinates and dialogues with subordinate organizations, TRADOC peer organizations, and high organizations.
Establishes personal contacts with counterpart tasking lead staff action agents and their respective immediate supervisors for exchanging information and ensuring rapid processing of information to meet short suspense tasking requirements.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
This position is a Term position and can be extended up to a maximum of six years. It is a time limited position and may be extended up to a maximum of six years.
A. Position may be filled by temporary promotion or temporary reassignment NTE 13 months, if a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotion/reassignment may be extended up to a maximum of 5 years and may be made permanent without further competition.
B. Position may be filled by term appointment NTE 13 months, if not a current permanent Army employee. Term appointment may be extended up to a maximum of six years.
