Duties

Assembles a diverse planning team of interdisciplinary health professionals and representatives from various services within the medical center including labor partners. Works with the committee to develop a charter, goals and strategic plan for the Employee Whole Health program, and ensures the plan is updated annually. Represents Employee Whole Health on the Whole Health Committee to ens ure collaboration on wellness initiatives that may be beneficial to both Veteran patients and employees when feasible. Conducts needs assessment(s) of employees to determine program needs and interests. Develops core program components based on assessment results. Implements use of available individual health assessments to determine employee wellness strengths and opportunities (i.e., Personal Health Inventory (PHI), Healthy Living Assessment (HLA)), and tracks employee improvement and goal attainment as appropriate. Promotes the Employee Whole Health prog 30 % ram to all employees on all shifts throughout the medical center and Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). Collaborates with the Employee Whole Health Committee and Public Affairs to develop a communications and marketing plan. Consults with service chiefs and managers to maintain high program visibility and advises them on staff involvement. Promotes the Employee Whole Health prog 30 % ram to all employees on all shifts throughout the medical center and Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). Collaborates with the Employee Whole Health Committee and Public Affairs to develop a communications and marketing plan. Consults with service chiefs and managers to maintain high program visibility and advises them on staff involvement. The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of GS-11. At the GS-09 grade level, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-11. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher level work, and availability of funds.

This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit. -AND- In addition to meeting the basic education requirements, you must also possess specialized experience and/or additional directly related education to qualify for this position as described below. One (1) full year of specialized experience equipped with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the Social Science Program Specialist position? To be creditable, this specialized experience must have been equivalent to the GS-7 level in Federal Service. The following qualifying specialized experience includes advising, educating, Knowledge of principles, techniques, and practices of Employee Whole Health as well as health promotion and employee wellness to plan and perform a wide range of activities related to the planning, development, and implementation of Employee Whole Health programs. Experience using a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of program effectiveness; conducting need assessments of employees to determine program needs and activities. (This must be documented in your resume) -OR- Successfully completed two (2) years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree in a related field of the position to be filled? Education at the graduate level must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. The Employee Whole Health coordinator will also be required to travel betw een sites (CBOCs and outlying clinics) encompassed in the healthcare system.
