About the Position: Directs a Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) program for an assigned organization. Serves as a principal authority, strategic advisor, and advocate for SHARP policies and programs; develops strategic plans and policies to support response and prevention elements of the sexual harassment/assault program and conducts assessments to ensure policy/program effectiveness; prioritizes victim care .
Duties
Provides program direction and guidance to others on sexual harassment/assault reporting procedures, confidentiality, and available resources to ensure their understanding and compliance with regulatory and procedural guidelines.
Utilizes crisis intervention and situational assessment and analysis techniques to provide support and assistance to victims of sexual harassment/assault prevention, response, and victim advocacy.
Promotes victim service resources that provide care for sexual harassment/assault victims, e.g., DoD Safe Helpline number, installation 24/7 SHARP hotline, and SARC/VA contacts.
Coordinates and synchronize care for victims of sexual harassment/assault to ensure their well-being is a priority.
Monitors overall quality of information in databases (e.g., Integrated Case Reporting System (ICRS)) to ensure sexual harassment data is handled in accordance with established guidelines.
Prepares schedules for completion of work based on an assessment of short- and long-term priorities
Recommends developmental and training opportunities for employees based on an assessment of their duties and performance.
One year of Supervisory probationary period may be required.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Five years or more providing SH/SA advocacy services in the military or private sector is preferred.
- Background checks against all records required by law, Office of Personnel Management, DoD, and Army policy or regulation will be conducted prior to entering on duty in the position.
- Minimum of a favorable suitability determination on a Tier 3 background investigation.
- Must attend and graduate from required SHARP training courses within six months of employment.
- Must maintain an active D-SAACP certification and up-to-date commander appointment orders prior to having any victim contact or access to victim information
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle should the need arise to operate a government vehicle/motor pool vehicle.
- May be subject to occasional 24/7 on-call SARC responsibilities.
- The incumbent will be required to maintain a 24/7 duty phone.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes applying legal, regulatory, and program guidance to the management of sexual harassment/assault cases; coordinating the provision of care for victims through proactive assistance/advocacy efforts; implementation of prevention activities based on data analysis that promotes the reduction of sexual harassment/assault and associated retaliatory behaviors.
