The Division of Administration (DA) directs the innovative internal management of the Commission’s business, personnel, financial, technological, security, and strategic operational resources. The Division’s role is to effectively and efficiently ensure the fulfillment of the Commission’s mission through continued success in continuity of operations, while providing the required resources for adaptation to regulating the ever-changing markets.
Duties
As an IT Specialist (APPSW) you will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) with the responsibility of overseeing the technical aspects of a software team by making architectural and design decisions, guiding others in technical matters, and supervising system modifications. Additionally, you will:

Qualifications
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

CT-14 Level: To qualify for the CT-14 level you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS/CT-13 level). Specialized experience is defined that through which one has gained experience:
Applying project management principles, methods/techniques, etc., needed in tasks such as developing plans, scheduling, estimating resources required; defining milestones and deliverable; monitoring, evaluation and reporting on activities/accomplishments.
Utilizing software engineering technologies and integration using applications such as SQL Server, Microsoft .NET, Java, HTML, and Internet Information Server (IIS).
Leading teams to provide full range of software development life cycle activities, including tasks such as requirements gathering, software design, software development, database management, system testing, system security, systems implementation and documentation.
Serving as a Subject Matter Expert in database modeling and management using Microsoft SQL Server.

Education is not required, nor may it be substituted for specialized experience.
