This position is located in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, in the Facility Maintenace Division. This position is concurrently open to the public under announcement number IM-1541-GLCA-23-12116476-DE.
Duties
Works with supervisor to plan weekly work schedules and sequences of operations of the Downlake District.
The position is a working leader and provides daily direction to at least three (3) workers to accomplish trades work on a regular and recurring basis.
This position also performs non-supervisory work requiring the use of a variety of trade practices similar to those lead. Trades include: electrical, plumbing, utility systems repairer-operator, water treatment plant operations, and wastewater treatment.
Maintains current knowledge, and answers questions of other workers on procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives.
Passes on to other workers the instructions received from the supervisor by assigning daily tasks to individuals of the work group.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:
Ability To Lead Or Supervise (SCREEN-OUT)
Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprints reading)
Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment
Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation Repair, etc.
Knowledge of materials
Technical Practices (theoretical precise, artistic)
Use of Measuring Instruments

SELECTIVE FACTORS:
This position operates and maintains a Level 1 Water Treatment Plant and equipment. The incumbent will perform inspection checks and is required to have a current State Level 1 Water Treatment AND Level 1 Water Distribution certificates to confirm they have the skill to repair and/or replace water treatment or distribution equipment. To meet these selective factors, provide a copy of both certificates or provide certification numbers and expiration dates to the job assessment.
