This position is located in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, in the Facility Operations Division.

Duties

The primary purpose of this position is to supervise the work center for Water, Wastewater, and Electrical Utilities. Develop, implement, manage, and supervise short and long-term planning and day-to-day activities of the Utilities work center. Supervise trades such as: Heavy equipment operation, Water, Wastewater, Welding, Electrical Repair of facilities, Campgrounds, Picnic areas, and Vehicle fleet operation/maintenance. Maintain a current Class A Commercial Driver's License. Area and Housing Information: This position is in Page, Arizona at Glen Canyon National Recreation Area on the Arizona-Utah border. Page overlooks beautiful Lake Powell which offers a variety of water sports including boating, fishing, and river running on the Colorado River above and below Lake Powell. The surrounding land is beautiful red rock country perfect for hiking, hunting, and backcountry activities. Page is at the hub of the Grand Circle which contains America's largest concentration of national parks and monuments, such as, Grand Canyon, Zion, Capitol Reef, Bryce Canyon, Arches, Canyonlands, Grand Staircase-Escalante, and the Flagstaff Area Monuments. Page offers normal small community amenities such as an airport, shopping, medical and dental facilities, schools K-12, and college courses available through the local Community College. The elevation is 4300 feet with high-desert sunny days, cool nights, and low humidity. Home purchases are available in the area. Government housing may be available by a bid process.

Maintenance Mechanic Supervisors at this level possess journeyman level knowledge for the development, implementation, management, and supervision of short and long-term planning and day-to-day activities of a park, or similar field maintenance operation including facilities such as: Heavy equipment operation, water and wastewater operations, electrical utilities repair and operation, Repair of facilities, Campgrounds, and/or Vehicle fleet operation/maintenance.
