About the Position: This position is located within Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) in the Department of Preventative Medicine, in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Duties
Perform Clinical or Counseling Psychologist duties utilizing both tele-health and face- to- face modalities of treatment.
Provide full array of behavioral health diagnostic, treatment, and consultation services as part of a comprehensive healthcare team to evaluate and treat patients with TBI and co-morbid psychiatric conditions.
Apply sound clinical reasoning skills and is able to synthesize complex evaluation and diagnosis data to develop individualized, comprehensive plans of care.
Maintain an active clinical workload in tele-behavioral health service delivery and provides specific psychological case consultation.
Develops a full range of diagnostic services, including psychological assessment for the assessment of basic cognitive functioning, current emotional status and/or personality structure and substance abuse.
Conduct a broad range of interventions to include individual, group, couples or family therapy, psychoeducation, or supportive counseling.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 25lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain Basic Life Support training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
- Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.

Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist:
Degree: Successful completion of a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal Service which includes 1) Performing diagnostic Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) evaluations; 2) Developing Behavioral Health treatment plans; 3) Providing psychological counseling for group and individual patient care, and 3) Managing data to develop comprehensive medical reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
License: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently offered by a U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required.
Education
