This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing,OFFICE OF IT OPERATIONS. As an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST, you will be responsible for the overall direction, management, and oversight of IT policies and procedures throughout BEP to include all production and warehousing facilities.
Duties
As an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST, you will:
- Serve as a Contract Portfolio Manager and provide oversight and program/portfolio management in the planning, coordination, development and implementation of acquisition plans and contract execution, including monitoring IT contracted services and goods throughout the lifetime of the contract, leading management in developing requirements to meet program needs, and participation in meetings to discuss project prioritizations and tradeoffs when changes in business requirements are realized.
- Provide management oversight and technical directions for the full spectrum of scope, cost, and impact of the provided goods or services.
- Evaluate and manage service providers with respect to performance, pricing, and reporting.
- Monitor and report on significant agency level IT programs and functions, interpreting policies disseminated by Bureau senior leadership and determine their effect on program requirements.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience for the GS-13 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Experience in coordination, planning, procurement, implementation, and technical oversight and direction of major information technology acquisitions.; AND
- Experience planning, researching, developing, writing, budgeting, evaluating, implementing, monitoring, and administering information technology contracts.; AND
- Experience researching new information technology systems and services and providing recommendations on solutions.
In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12level for 52 weeks.
