About the Position: The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance. We provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, and chemical, metallurgical and training support.

Duties

Enforce Army information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVAs) management and spillage procedures. Develop and disseminate the standard information technology security procedures and protocols governing network/automation operations. Conduct feasibility studies, special projects and analysis of recurring problems relating to local operations. Assess security events to determine impact and implement corrective actions.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Incumbent must obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance (Tier 5, Special Sensitive, Critical Sensitive, Noncritical-Sensitive, High Risk).
• This position is designated as Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I position and Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I. Incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification.
• This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA FORM 5019-R, Condition of employment for certain civilian position identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program.

Basic Requirement for IT Specialist (Information Security) GS-11: Specialized and Other Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Installing, configuring, and operating network security devices; researching and identifying information technology system vulnerabilities; identifying potential security risks; isolating potential incidents and recommending solutions; and experience with Active Directory for user account maintenance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). AND The Specialized Experience for the GS-07/09/11 must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Education for GS-07: One full year of graduate level education from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate level education from an accredited or pre-accredited institution that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.

Superior Academic Achievement: Successful completion of all the requirements for a bachelor's degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, bachelor's degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks. Education for GS-11: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, three full years of graduate education from an accredited or pre-accredited institution that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
