About the Position: This position is located in the Defense Health Agency (DHA) under the policy guidance and direction of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs (ASD (HA)) in San Antonio, TX. Recruitment or relocation incentives MAY be authorized for highly qualified candidates. Salary negotiations may be available if new to federal service.

Duties

Interprets and summarizes a variety of data populated within MHS information systems. Assists with customer service functions, which involve providing technical support, consultation, direction and training to customers involved with processes to reduce variance, improve accuracy and timeliness. Performs process improvement functions in support of productivity analysis. Develops training and standard operation procedures (SOPs) for management data analyst activities. Identifies areas of data quality concerns that focus on improving business practices, reducing variance, and promoting standardization to ensure the quality of data.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Basic Requirements Health System Specialist Electronic Health Record GS-0671-11: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes, assisting with the examination of Data Quality Management Control (DQMC)processes; collecting and analyzing financial data; reviewing reports or corrective actions; and developing training or standard operation procedures (SOPs) for management data analyst activities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Healthcare Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
