The Supervisory Program Specialist works under the Service Chief, Diagnostic Imaging at the Malcom Randall VAMC, in Gainesville, FL. Performs operational managerial and analytical duties in support of Diagnostic Imaging Service (DIS). Helps in resource utilization, strategic planning, and organizational development. Supervises staff providing guidance on technical problems, managing flow of work, statistical analysis of programs, provides information to credentialing and privileging of staff.

Duties

Major Duties Include (but not limited to): Develops informational materials for medical facility customers and staff, including procedure preparation instructions, SOP's, Policies and Procedures. Monitors quality improvement measures for the Medical Center; reviews quality and performance measures for process improvement Resolves informal complaints or grievances from internal and external customers. Reviews data from resource utilization, strategic planning, and organizational development and proposes and implements solutions. Recommends promotions, reassignments, or other status changes of assigned personnel, such as retention or release of probationary employees, step increases, and recognizes outstanding performance by recommending meritorious awards. Implements work flow and flow charting increase workload performance. Conducts special studies on manpower, space, and equipment utilization. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm Telework: Regularly teleworks 3 (+) plus days a pay period. Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/18/2023. GS-11 Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-09. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: GS-11 Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-09 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Ensures compliance with VHA policy, directives and guidelines. Provides information relating to credentialing and privileging of staff, performance improvement and workload statistics. Serves as a subject matter expert and program manager for all Diagnostic Imaging Service (DIS) items relating to access, scheduling, consult management, clinical profile management, Personal Identity Verification, and Information Management (ADPAC assignments). Prepares all recurring monthly reports, compiles, analyzes data and gathers information reports for submission to the Service Chief. Collects and analyzes data related to Access, Scheduling, Consult Management, Physician Productivity, DRT workload and service effectiveness. OR, GS-11 Education (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED): Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a PhD. or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. OR, GS-11 Combination (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED): Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have a combination of specialized experience directly related to the work of the Supervisory Program Specialist position and at least 1 year (18 semester hours) of graduate level education beyond a Master's or equivalent degree. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required.
