The Program Support Assistant (PSA) serves as a member of VISN 23 Emergency Department under the direction of the Emergency Department Program Manager. The Program Support Assistant is a critical member of the Emergency Department and is essential for the coordination and support of daily operations. The PSA will provide administrative assistance for all manners of administrative need.

You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Performs activities that support computerized scheduling and staffing procedures. Prepares correspondence, reports, and other documents, such as graphics or tables within text, editing and reformatting electronic drafts, based on information gathered from program files or other records. Establishes and maintains program files and records and processes incoming/outgoing written correspondence. Experience in timekeeping functions, scheduling meetings and/or preparing minutes; (This experience must be well documented in your resume or application package).

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week worked and the month and year start/end dates spent in such employment.
Physical Requirements: There may be walking, standing bending and moving or carrying of medium items such as files and documents (0-20 pounds).
