Duties

The incumbent will serve as Deputy Division Chief of the Operations Management Division and will apply management knowledge and experience of several functional areas to define, lead, or assist in the collective efforts of a multi-disciplinary staff ensuring effective and efficient operations in Manpower/Personnel and Information/Record Management in support of the AFOSR mission. Uses administrative, budget, and financial management principles to manage organizational taskers and suspenses, plan and manage yearly organizational budgets, develop near-term and mid-term organizational plans, ensure an active awards and recognition program, and direct work to meet organizational goals. Employs business data analytics to increase efficiency of business operations. Participates in study, analysis, and development of new or improved instructions, policies, plans, procedures, and practices ensuring that all programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements and achieve organization-wide mission objectives. Provides information and concepts to the Director, senior leaders and employees through briefings and presentations, providing guidance on all aspects of assigned areas. Communicates with leadership, peers, and organizations across multiple levels inside and outside AFOSR to influence major management activities and policy development. Participates in special projects and responds to incoming taskers from SAF, AFMC, AFRL and other agencies/services. Supports the Chief in the quality controls on internal self-inspection program and Unit Compliance Inspections in response to regulatory mandates, with attention given to various functional disciplines. Increases enterprise collaboration among Msn Orgs and frees up resources for other critical investments by leveraging other Msn Org expertise and by defining opportunities to develop cross-mission organization technical programs responding to the warfighter.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the DO-02/GS-13, or equivalent level. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience. To ensure full credit for your experience, please indicate dates of employment by month, day, and year and the number of hours worked per week in your resume. Experience administering operations which may include human resource management, document/record management, executing regulations, policies, and practices. Experience includes: Utilizing reports, data, and metrics to provide informed business decisions. Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and leveraging technology to enhance the customer experience and improve efficiencies. Applying communicative techniques to interact with internal and external customers effectively and diplomatically. Leading day-to-day operations implementing policies programs and procedures.
