Position is located in the USGM Office of Security's Director's Office and reports to the Director of Security. Incumbent assists the Security Director with oversight, direction, policy, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) review, formulation, and day-to-day management of the work performed within each Division of the USAGM Office of Security.
Duties
As a Security Specialist, you will be responsible for duties to include, but are not limited to:
Serves as USAGM Office of Security representative to interagency groups related to Federal security policy and related issues and represents the agency and Security Director in meetings with other U.S Departments and agencies on security issues, including meeting with representatives of U.S. Department of State on security policies and issues related to USAGM personnel located in embassies and foreign posts.
Delivers and/or arranges for the delivery of training to security staff and employees, supervisors, and managers throughout the agency.
Develops or identifies security training that covers all USAGM personnel.
Reviews the oral briefings and reports from the Division Chiefs to outside audiences relating to the sources and methods of USAGM security activities, including covering protection of information, personnel, property, foreign intelligence activities, and acts of violence directed against the facilities or personnel of all USAGM posts.
Reviews and evaluates recommendations on resource determinations for each Division's operations, the priority and scheduling.

Requirements
- You must be a U.S Citizen or U.S. National.
- This is a national security position. If selected, this position requires the completion of the SF-86.
- Suitability Determination: If selected, you will be subject to a background investigation to establish your suitability for federal employment. The background investigation may include, among other aspects, a review of your credit and legal history.
- This position is not covered by a Union Agreement.
- This position may require serving a one-year probationary period.
- The full performance grade level for this position is GS-14
- If you are a male applicant who is born after 12/31/59, you are required to be registered for the Selective Service.
- This position has been designated managerial requiring that the selectee serve on an initial appointment as a supervisor or manager and serve a one-year probationary period.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the GS-13 or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Developing, evaluating, and implementing security policies, procedures, and standards pertaining to at least one of the following security disciplines: personnel security, physical security, industrial security, and/or information security;
Conduct training to provide guidance of policy and procedures relating to at least one of the following security disciplines: personnel security, physical security, industrial security, and/or information security;
Advising customers and leadership on security policies, procedures, and regulations.

Education is not required for this grade level. It cannot be used for qualification purposes.
