This position is located in the office of the Chief, Anesthesiology Service, Nashville Campus of the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System. The Chief of Anesthesiology Service is responsible for the overall coordination of Anesthesia for the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System.
Duties
Prepares correspondence, forms, manuscripts, and reports for the Chief, Assistant Chief and others
Records and Prepares minutes of meetings held at the call of the Chief
Collects and organizes sensitive information regarding patient care
Serves as a timekeeper for the Nashville Campus Anesthesiology Service T & L
Makes arrangements for travel, including preparation of travel requests/ orders, vouchers and accommodations for official travel for Chief, Assistant Chief and others as needed
Employee will be responsible for following applicable regulations and instructions regarding access to computerized files, release of access codes
Responsible for the Quality Assurance performance and outcome monitors reporting for the service and monitors/ compiles compliance information
Coordinates scheduling of personnel including clinical and administrative meetings, appointments, lectures, vacations and other calendar items

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/29/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
Specialized Experience GS-7: Do you have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties the Program Assistant (AO) at the full performance level (GS-6), and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled? To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-6) in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience such as receiving and directing telephone calls and greeting visitors. Preparing correspondence, reports, and other documents based on information gathered from program files or other records. Establishing and maintaining program files and records. Knowledge of various office automation software, processing procedures, and function keys to produce a wide range of documents, such as graphics or tables within text, editing and reformatting electronic drafts, and updating and revising existing databases or spreadsheets. Knowledge of standard office equipment, such as computers, copiers, fax machines, and office automation systems to perform a substantial range of office automation support. Proper use of grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and commonly used specialized terminology to prepare written material correctly. Note: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hour worked per week.
