About the Position: In this position you will provide administrative support and legal assistance to the Office of Counsel, Nashville District.
Description of the working environment: Work is performed in an office setting.
Description of Location: The District Office is located in the heart of beautiful downtown Nashville, TN, the home of country music. It is just a three block walk to the historic Ryman Auditorium and Music Row.
Duties
Manage and operate various office software and databases for legal and financial documentation.
Produce and organize legal documents and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and proper format.
Handle office communications, coordinate schedules, and manage visitor and call reception.
Conduct research and support in the preparation of legal materials, including litigation support.
Assist in managing Freedom of Information Act requests and compliance with relevant regulations.
Support in the claims process, including research, documentation, and correspondence.
Perform general administrative tasks, including file management, travel arrangements, supply procurement, and meeting organization.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes preparing, reviewing and organizing legal case and administrative materials including large collections of documents; assisting attorneys with case management and logistical planning in support of legal case preparation and hearings; and creating documents and spreadsheets for a legal office and for litigation using software such as Word, Adobe and Excel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
