The primary purpose of this position is: The employee will provide expert technical leadership and direction in designing a standardized methodology for building and maintaining test automation architecture, framework, solution, and training support for the squadron.

Duties
1. Demonstrates a fundamental knowledge of concepts for conducting developmental test and evaluation (DT&E) and integrates technical knowledge of computer hardware and software concepts such as data presentation, operating systems, computer architecture, computer languages, and software development methodologies with AF and DoD test policy and procedures to execute testing of C41SR, IW, IO, & cryptologic systems.
2. Serves as Test Director. Applies governing regulations, policies, and procedures with guidance.
3. Stays up to date in professional/technical competence of T&E related technology through IA certifications, training courses, and translates new developments into concrete advances in one's own or work unit's performance.

- This position is Test and Evaluation Level II, non-critical, and incumbent must meet appropriate certification requirements IAW the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) no later than 24 months after accepting this position.
- Master's degree in electronics/electrical/computer engineering, computer science, or another technical field is highly desirable. At least five (5) years engineering or analysis experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of LAN and WAN topologies, networking protocols, and VOIP is critical to the successful performance of the work and is highly desired.
- Knowledge of PC H/W and S/W including OSs is critical to the successful performance of the work and is highly desired.
- Experience with fiber optic networks, cellular networks, CDMA, and GSM standards is highly desirable.
Qualifications
This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the 12 grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions.
POSITIVE EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: This position has a positive education requirement. If transcripts are not provided, your resume MUST list the appropriate academic field (e.g. biology, mechanical engineering, economics, sociology, etc.) and all courses you have taken (including those failed), which appear to satisfy the qualification requirements of the position for which you are applying. List graduate and undergraduate courses separately. BASIC REQUIREMENT: Computer Engineering Series, 0854 and Electronics Engineering Series, 0855
A. Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

B. Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.
BASIC REQUIREMENT: Computer Science Series, 1550
Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Qualified electronics, computer engineer or computer scientist with in-depth knowledge of a wide range of concepts, principles, & practices in computer networks and information systems. Position requires knowledge of DoD and AF acquisition, DT&E and OT&E policy, procedures, & processes. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS PERTAINING TO THIS POSITION:
Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six-month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
