Duties

DUTY 1: Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Engineering Section, ensuring that HNC systems engineering, complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and system engineering objectives. DUTY 2: Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Selects or recommends selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignments in consideration of skills and qualifications, mission requirements, and EEO and diversity objectives. DUTY 3: Performs a broad range of COMSEC/Cyber engineering analyses and/or engineering assignments entailing unique problems, creativity, innovative use of techniques, advance approaches and or new technology. DUTY 4: Represents AFLCMC with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

Qualifications

This is a GG-14 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-14 duties for the "Supervisory/Management" work category are at the "Senior" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-14 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. In order to qualify, you must meet the Supervisory/ Manager experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: COMPUTER ENGINEER GG-0854-14 OR ELECTRONICS ENGINEER GG-0855-14 A. Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. OR B. Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: Professional registration or licensure, written test, specified academic courses, or related curriculum. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONT: -Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information, other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. -This position has been designated by the AF as a Testing Designated Position under the AF Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program.
