About the Position: Serves as the Exercise Support and Sustainment Planning Specialist for the Training and Exercise Division, Exercises and Coalition Affairs Directorate, Headquarters, United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM), located in Miami, Florida.
This is a TERM position NTE 5 Years.
Duties
Ability to develop and/or refine methods and procedures for the conduct of administrative and sustainment support functions for program operations.
Responsible for submitting after action findings and reports that are utilized across the Enterprise and implementation and maintenance of various administrative programs.
Apply guidance and problem-solving abilities in areas of financial management, personnel, and the technical application of the contracts.
Provide recommendations that will enhance and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Division and the execution of the Joint Event Life Cycles (JELC.)
Performs a variety of tasks that require an application of different and unrelated processes, procedures and methods while developing, planning, and implementing the Command’s personnel management, administrative, security and training programs.

- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 30% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning, coordinating, and executing sustainment support for lead exercise events. Experience with Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) events for the following Combatant Command exercises to include: TRADEWINDS, FUSED RESPONSE, PANAMAX, and INTEGRATED ADVANCE. Experience overseeing sustainment plans and ensuing successful execution of exercises. Experience with Government Purchase Card requirements and procedures, pertinent methods, mission requirements, program goals and objectives, regulations, laws, policies, and precedents which govern the Joint Event Life Cycles (JELC). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
