This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD/Modified. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Duties

You will install and repair component parts of liquid fuel storage, distribution, and dispensing systems. You will fabricate pump strainers, filters and other miscellaneous metal objects and special tools in support of daily operation duties. You will conduct follow-up inspections of contractor and in-house repairs. You will maintains records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs, as required. You will troubleshoots and repairs problems in the various components of liquid fuel distribution systems. You will perform various welding repairs on equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: I am able to perform the full range of welder tasks under limited supervision which includes experience performing using blueprints, drawings, sketches and verbal instructions; performing electric arc and oxyacetylene welding, brazing, and soldering on steel and non-ferrous metals in order modify or repair fuel pipelines or piping systems; determining the welding techniques and machine settings to be used; performing oxy-acetylene or plasma arc cutting/burning; assembling and setting up parts to be welded and make the required welds; using pre-heating, heat sinks, and stress relieving techniques to prevent distortion; devising jigs and fixtures; measuring, cutting, threading, and joining piping; performing welding that is subject to Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to ensure weld quality; complying with safety and environmental regulations for welding near fuel storage facilities; applying knowledge of welding standards related to various metals and alloys.
