Duties
You will be a Program Manager in the Maintenance Standard and Test Programs Division of the Maintenance Instruction and Material Programs Department, SUBMEPP Activity.
You will be responsible for developing the standard approach and verbiage for technical criteria and procedures to be followed by shipyard technical and production personnel in the testing of submarine systems.
You will evaluate maintenance and test requirements for consistency, and contacts production shops to discuss their ability to accomplish the work.
You will evaluate proposals for changes and modifications to methods, components and equipment facilitating and improving the inspection, testing and maintenance process.
You will evaluate the adequacy and practicability of the proposed change or design in terms of cost and personnel requirements.
You will plan work by scoping each task to define technical requirements, determine the approach to be used, the segments of the task, and recommend completion dates and priority.
You will lead the development and maintenance of an electronic library of technical documents.
You will represent SUBMEPP in discussions and conferences at other Government and private activities, and chair meetings with technical, computer and managerial personnel to discuss and resolve technical and programmatic problems.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
GS-12: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical engineering support for the maintenance or testing of submarine systems to ensure compliance with program requirements with minimal supervisory oversight.

GS-11: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical engineering support for the maintenance or testing of submarine systems to ensure compliance with program requirements. Close supervisory oversight is required to ensure all requirements are met.
