This position is located in the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), within the Office of Information Technology (OIT), Cybersecurity Services, Cybersecurity Operations. You will report to the Assistant Director, Cybersecurity Operations with the primary responsibility to plan, design, implement, and support server related infrastructure including server hardware, server operating systems, security monitoring tools, enterprise management software, and reporting.
Duties
As an Information Technology Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC/SYSADMIN), you will:
Analyze systems requirements and policy requirements, develop specifications for new or modified systems, plan and coordinate the design, development, testing, installation, and support of new and modified systems, including base hardware and software components and configuration, and plan and schedules the installation of new or modified hardware and operating systems and applications software.
Serve as the primary liaison with internal and external organizations on all cybersecurity related matters. Ensure all Federal cybersecurity requirements related to hardware and software are integrated into system design and development.
Create processes to use security tools to monitor bureau systems for unauthorized hardware and software. Promote awareness of security issues among management.
Maintain a high level of technical expertise with respect to computer hardware and software developments and uses this knowledge to anticipate security problems or requirements for involvement in new TIGTA programs, projects, or modifications to existing computer systems.
Participate in system development review boards as the cyber security authority to ensure that security issues are adequately addressed in any new hardware and software.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Experience supporting and/or maintaining continuous monitoring tools from a software and hardware perspective AND;
- Experience leading system enhancements as part of an information technology team AND;
- Experience using continuous monitoring tools to remediate security vulnerabilities and/or risks.
In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.
