Duties
Serves as Work Leader by identifying, distributing, and balancing workload and tasks to team members in accordance with established workflow, and assures timely accomplishment of the assigned workload.
Provides individual and team training in specific tasks and job techniques, and provides on-the-job training in accordance with established procedures and practices.
Using the appropriate entitlement system, accesses a variety of documents including orders, travel vouchers and supporting documents for payments to military and civilian personnel.
Determines or verifies the required accounting code or line of accounting. Validates vouchers for payment into the appropriate entitlement system.
Performs audit of travel advances and voucher settlements. Certifies travel payment authorizations based on receipt of regulatory documentation and legality of travel entitlements under various funding authorities and specific laws and regulations.
Determines and applies proper coding to a variety of obligations and accrued expenditures and disbursing transactions, ranging from simple to
complex.

- Please note, this is NOT a 100% virtual/remote position where work may be performed from any location in the US. This position is eligible for local telework near the duty station of the position, subject to management review and approval.
Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-05) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as: validating, monitoring and maintaining accounting transactions and accounting records; entering accounting data into an automated financial system to process a wide variety of account transactions; identifying and researching discrepancies in account transactions and making adjustments.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-05 or higher grade in Federal Service.
You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
Education
GS-06 Substitution of Education for Experience: Six months of graduate education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience required when it is directly related to the work of the position being filled.
