About the Position: The pay band NH-04 includes the General Schedule grade equivalent to GS-14 to 15. Other initiatives under the Acquisition Demonstration Project include simplified classification, streamlined hiring process and expanded developmental opportunities. This position has a control point of a GS-15 step 6 $181,648.

Duties

Establishes and ensures compliance with higher echelon policies and guidance. Develops and adjusts long-range plans for the development and improvement of logistics-related programs, ensuring that plans meet mission requirements and incorporate technological advances. Serves as the Commander's representative for logistics programs with the installation, at higher headquarters, and with representatives of other agencies to develop new operational concepts, expand or change operations or procedures, etc. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, setting priorities on command level tasks. Evaluates performance and gives advice, counsel, or instruction to individual employees on both work and administrative matters. Hears and resolves complaints from employees; refers to group grievances and the more serious complaints not resolved to higher-level supervisors. Serves as Commander's designee for review and approval of all logistics related elements of purchase requests, Memorandums of Understanding, Memorandums of Agreement, Inter/Intra Service Support Agreements, and Standard Operating Procedures. Plans, programs, allocates resources, and directs, coordinates, and evaluates a wide range of logistics-related functions including supply management, acquisition, maintenance, replacement, and disposition, and transportation and movement of goods. Develop Logistics assessment methodologies, establishes, manages, and controls a comprehensive Logistics review and assessment program covering all programs assigned to the Command.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • One-year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • Secret Security clearance required.
  • This position is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
  • This is a Critical Acquisition Position.
  • Must sign three-year tenure agreement.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics certification within 48 months as of entrance on duty.

Experience in logistics management supply, maintenance, and transitioning systems to sustainment. Monitor forecasting, planning, and funding programs to ensure best use of available resources.
