About the position: This position will be assigned to Bowling and Golf facility management at Wright-Patt AFB, responsible for planning, directing, and organizing the business resources to successfully operate bowling and golf facilities. Duties

Introductory Statement: This position merges the Bowling Center Manager and Assistant Golf Course Manager positions. Serves as the installation Bowling Center Manager, responsible for planning, directing, and organizing the business resources to successfully operate facilities in support of the installation commander's quality of life programs. Also serves as Assistant Golf Course Manager, to provide support and assist the Golf Course Manager in both course and facility operational management and maintenance of the golf courses. Duties and Responsibilities: Bowling: The bowling center manager is responsible for the economic and efficient operation of the bowling center facility and activities. Prepares budget, analyzes financial results, and maintains solid financial condition of the bowling center. Golf: Ensures course, putting green, chipping practice area, golf carts, and rental equipment are correctly maintained. Assists Golf Manager in preparing budget, analyzing financial results, and maintaining solid financial condition of the facilities and courses. Combined: Implements higher-level directives, formulates procedures and programs to ensure high standards of food and beverage, recreational, and promotional programs. Establishes, reviews, and evaluates food service and purchase of supplies, equipment, and resale merchandise. Establishes financial goals commensurate with market analysis of area or region. Responsible for work force management, recruitment, and staff training. Manages real property resources and provides expert advice on renovations, improvements, and minor and major construction. Ensures maintenance and preventive maintenance are performed on all bowling and golf- related facilities and equipment. Promotes, organizes, schedules, and conducts tournaments, matches, open and league play, special events, and daily facility activities. Conducts or ensures bowling and golf lessons/classes are conducted. Ensures appropriate golf and bowling equipment and supplies are on hand. Oversees the operation of pro shops and/or snack bars. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience in golf and bowling, to include experience that shows progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical, or other work which has provided a general knowledge of management principles and practices, or progressively responsible experience in one or more of the functions managed by a golf course or bowling center manager. General experience must include responsibility or supervision over the various phases of a bowling center or golf course operation. Specialized Experience: In addition to general experience, specialized experience gained in the operation or management of a civilian or military golf course and/or bowling center operation is preferred. Specialized experience must be at a level that shows the applicant can perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A Professional Golf Association (PGA) Class A certificate and/or a Bowling Proprietors Association of America (BPAA) military management certificate is desirable. Substitution for specialized experience: A Professional Golf Management degree from a PGA accredited Professional Golf Management School or a Professional Bowling degree in an accredited College or University may be substituted for specialized experience.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
