You will serve as a Chief of Staff in the Safety and Regulatory Compliance Directorate of NAVSEA HQ.
Duties
You will manage federal compliance programs specific to environmental, radiological, safety and/or maintenance and modernization programs.
You will be responsible for work assignments to be accomplished by the employees, setting priorities, preparing schedules for work completion, and ensuring the timely performance of satisfactory work efforts.
You will determine worker responsibilities, evaluate employee performance, recommend appropriate incentives, initiate corrective actions, assure safety practices, and keep employees informed of management and personnel policies.
You will be responsible for the formulation, coordination, review, and evaluation of the effectiveness of organizational operating policies, regulations, and procedures.
You will develop policies, facilitating maintenance and modernization efforts.
You will communication with senior environmental, safety managers in SECNAV, OPNAV, the Fleets and other SYSCOMS on Navy-wide issues that affect NAVSEA
You will plan, design, and execute the SOH program within the framework of applicable laws while providing technical leadership over the program; mentoring, motivating, and appraising subject matter expert staff of an organization.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing federal compliance programs specific to environmental, radiological, safety and/or maintenance and modernization programs for an organization. Examples of specialized experience include: Developing protection policies, facilitating maintenance and modernization efforts; planning, organizing, and directing the aforementioned programs within an organization; liaison with senior environmental, safety managers in SECNAV, OPNAV, the Fleets and other SYSCOMS on Navy-wide issues that affect NAVSEA.
