About the Position: The person in this position will serve as the Intern Program Coordinator with responsibility for accredited Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship of a ACGME accredited military medical center (MEDCEN), and for the conduct of graduate medical education (GME) residency and fellowship training programs for physicians.
Duties
Advise and assist the Fellowship Program Director in the leadership and day-to-day management and direction of the program.
Serve as the primary point of contact for Student/Fellow coordinator for administration and training services in support of student assignments, rotations and file maintenance.
Serve as the Directorate?s primary records manager for fellows engaged in sports medicine fellowship program.
Serve as the point of contact for the dissemination of training and privileging information to other military and civilian hospitals as appropriate.
Perform hospital inventory regarding call room equipment/furnishings.
Collect and forward privileging recommendations and performance assessments from Program Director to the trainees? gaining institutions upon permanent change of station (PCS) or program completion.
Coordinate in-processing with Information Management and Security.
Plan and coordinate recurring and special Sports Medicine GME event including agendas, invitations, marketing, conference setup and site preparation, speaker coordination and catering arrangements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing automated systems to coordinate, track and/or consolidate reports regarding the Graduate Medical Education (GME) program; providing guidance on training and/or developmental programs such as Graduate Medical Education (GME); coordinating training events throughout the Graduate Medical Education (GME) program; and planning and/or executing major projects and/or activities in accordance with regulations and directives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, MS in Education, Organizational Leadership, Healthcare Leadership and Public Health Management.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages
