You will serve as an INSTALLATION TRAINING OFFICER in the TRAINING AND READINESS DIVISION of NB SAN DIEGO.

Duties

You will analyze the impact on mission performance from training and education program issues. You will identify and implement developmental or necessary training for subordinate employees. You will collaborate to develop and adapt exercise scenarios that support the command's mission. You will coordinate with activities to schedule education and training.

Requirements

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance while employed in the subject position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Selectee must obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.
  • Overtime/Weekend/Holiday work may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing realistic training events that are based on validated training requirements; 2) Assisting in developing the strategy and plan to provide continuous evaluation of installation training and processes; 3) Coordinating installation level Shore Response Training and Exercise requirements based on installation mission and long range training goals.
