You will serve as a EQUAL EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST in the FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHEAST COMMAND OPERATIONS DEPT HUMAN CAPITAL MGMT DIV of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.

Duties

You will perform the duties of an EEO Specialist with responsibility of EEO counseling and served in a support role for sub-functions of EEO Programs such as the Special Emphasis Program and the Reasonable Accommodation Program. You will provide advice/guidance to employees and supervisors on the EEO Complaint process. You will provide program information/training to employees, supervisors/managers. You will serve as an assistant manager or team member. You will assist in the development of policies and instructions. You will participate in team activities, and contribute to the completion of team goals.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following duties: 1) Assist in providing guidance on the EEO Complaint process; 2) Provide program information/ training to employees, supervisors/ managers; 3) Assist in presenting briefings to supervisors/ managers; 4) Assist in the development of policies and instructions; 5) Participate in team activities, and contributed to the completion of team goals. GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following duties: 1) Responsible for EEO counseling and serve in a support role for sub-functions of EEO Programs such as the Special Emphasis Program and the Reasonable Accommodation Program; 2) Provide advice/ guidance to employees and supervisors on the EEO Complaint process; 3) Provide program information/ training to employees, supervisors/managers; 4) Developed and presented briefings/ products to supervisors/ managers; 5) Assisted in the development of policies and instructions.
