As an Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist (Case Manager) you will work to promote a discrimination free work environment focused on serving Veterans by preventing, resolving, and processing Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) discrimination complaints in a timely and high-quality manner.
Duties
Conduct interviews of personnel to gather information regarding EEO complaints.
Gather documents and relevant information for EEO case files.
Facilitate resolution of EEO issues with disputed parties.
Research complex EEO materials (federal regulations, case law, policies).
Recommend changes to ORMDI's EEO procedures based on new legal determinations.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

To qualify, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS12) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience is defined as work that involves; (1) Analyzing information for selection of appropriate principles and theories to resolve EEO matters; (2) Advising on solutions to EEO specific problems/cases by determining the appropriate plan of action for each complaint; (3) Evaluating trends in procedural decisions for advisement to EEO Specialist for corrective action; and; (4) Conducting interviews with personnel regarding allegations of equal employment opportunity (EEO) infractions.
Education
There is no educational substitution for the GS-13 level.
