About the Position: Serves as Chief of the Environmental Branch, Programs and Project Management Division. Incumbent is responsible for the vertical and horizontal integration of products to produce the projects and manage the programs assigned to the Branch.
Duties
Provides management oversight and direction on the development of Project Management and Quality Assurance Plans.
Oversee and direct Branch activities involving large-scale design and remediation/construction support.
Supervises a staff of project managers, technical experts, and administrative support team members.
Implements overall programs and project management guidance and policy.
Provides corporate leadership and interface with potential stakeholders and sponsors for DoD and interagency components.
Evaluates project requirements, incorporates new developments, and exercises judgment to solve a variety of complex technical problems.
Oversees all phases of major environmental projects in their jurisdiction to ensure integration and coordination within established timeframes.
Coordinates proactively with large numbers of federal, state, and local agencies, military and civilian stakeholders, and District personnel in resolving issues impacting projects.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- One-year Supervisory Probationary period may be required.
- Temporary Duty Travel of 25% is required.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Utilizing a professional knowledge of complex environmental planning, design, remediation/construction and long-term management. (2) Leading and coordinating the operation and execution of comprehensive remediation projects within the Southeastern United States, to include DoD installations. and/or (3) Provide the delivery of projects within an environmental program in accordance with applicable laws and agency standards, regulations and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
