This position is located in the Medical Imaging Department, at the Nashville Campus of the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System. Administrative Support Assistant provides administrative support to the Chief of Medical Imaging, Health Systems Specialists (HSS), Nuclear Medicine Section Chief and the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Supervisor to meet the mission of the TVHS Medical Imaging Department and Radiation Safety Program.
Duties
Duties include but not limited to:
Provides a full range of administrative operations and clerical functions to effectively support the critical balance between the administrative and clinical functions of healthcare delivery systems.
Ability to work with very little direction or supervision.
Assist with policy development, direction, and implementation.
Assist in the identification of short term and long-term needs for resources and effective ma11agement of those identified resources.
Data collection, preparation of reports, and project documents.
Creatively devise ways in which forms, records, procedures, etc., can be created and/or improved to achieve and meet TVHS Medical Imaging Service demands more efficiently.
Serves as the primary timekeeper for Nuclear Medicine aod Ultrasound sections (both campuses) and backup timekeeper for Radialogy (both campuses), and in this capacity is familiar with and current on all timekeeping regulations and guidelines for the system.
Provides staff support to the service in the appointment, credentialing, and clinical privileging program.
Provides staff support to the service in the tracking and management of all human resources and staffing issues.
Tracks and coordinates the completion of annually competency assessments.
Serves as the Fund Control Point Clerk for TVHS Medical Imaging Service and Radiation Safety, which includes ordering, receiving and stocking supplies.
Maintains record of annual and quarterly allotment by fund control point.
Complete data collection and analysis, management meetings, inpatient and outpatient statistics and workload, and productivity measures.
Receives, independently responds to, and files correspondence, records and reports. Incoming correspondence is screened prior to distribution for suspense dates, establishing contacts and follow-up. Sets up and maintains files in a systematic manner.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/14/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes, but not limited to: Timekeeping; Scheduling supervisory calendars; Conference planning; Data Collection and analysis.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, but may include walking, standing, bending, stooping and carrying of light items, such as papers and books, and lifting of equipment items and supplies.
