About the Position: This is a Training Ammunition Manager position located within US Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7 at Fort Eustis, Virginia. The Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7 develops, integrates, and manages training operations and requirements, concepts, policies, plans; and directs operations continuously across TRADOC in support of CG TRADOC.
Duties
Serves as the senior technical advisor and TRADOC subject matter expert for training ammunition and missile management.
Applies expert knowledge of the ammunition management processes, functions, methods, and techniques in providing guidance to TRADOC installations, centers, and schools, on training ammunition and ammunition items excluded from TAMS.
Works with Headquarters, Department of the Army, and Army Munitions Command in the development of TRADOC training ammunition requirements for budget input to HQDA for POM years.
Applies a detailed knowledge and understanding of force structure changes new equipment fielding, and new ammunition items.
Develops conventional and missiles ammunition requirements to support Forces Modernization (FM) initiatives.
Represents TRADOC at a variety of committee meetings, conferences, and seminars involving training ammunition requirements, allocations, distribution, and expenditures as applied to the Army Training Ammunition Management Systems.
Supervises the work of 2 branch personnel.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) experience using an automated systems such as the Total Ammunition Management Information System (TAMIS) or Training Ammunition Management System; 2) forecasting, ordering, and procuring standard and nonstandard ammunition; AND 3) experience in ammunition management processes, functions, methods and techniques. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
